One of the hardest moments for pet owners is knowing when it’s time to say goodbye. The decision is difficult for both the owner and the veterinarian, but sometimes this is the kindest thing we can do in the final stage of a pet’s life.
When that time comes, we make sure that both you and your pet are comfortable and do our very best to ensure a peaceful transition. After a brief exam, your pet will be given a sedative to put them at ease and eliminate any pain they may be feeling. After your pet is nice and sleepy an IV catheter will be placed and an injection will be given that will painlessly and peacefully stop the heart.
Meadow Hill Veterinary Shoppe proudly works with Final Gift Pet Memorial Center, a reputable and sensitive pet aftercare service. If you wish to have your beloved pet cremated they handle each animal with care and offer a variety of lovely urns to allow you to keep your pet close. We also have a list of trusted at-home euthanasia services available if that would be preferred.
If you have any questions about end-of-life services we will thoughtfully discuss everything with you.
